Dear Sara,
I am taking three
courses online this semester and I love it! It gives me the flexibility
to learn and complete coursework whenever I have the time, versus a set
time and traveling to school for class meetings. Although I miss the
person to person interaction, it has been working out great for me!

Susan,
I’m so glad that
you are loving your online classes. There are several ways to get
around the perceived lack of person-to-person interaction that can make
your online learning experience even more rewarding. Of course, there
is always the option to communicate online through CourseDen via the chat and email features, but one thing to try out is video conferencing. Some examples of video conferencing options are Skype and Google+ (see Hangouts),
both of which are free. All you’ll need is a webcam and a headset with
a microphone if you don’t have a computer with both already integrated,
but these can be found for a very reasonable price at places like
WalMart or Staples. There’s also options to use social networking sites
such as Facebook and Twitter to keep in contact with classmates.
Sincerely,
Sara
